About David
David Vanzetti provides the company with in-house modelling expertise and technical advice on quantitative methods. He started his career at the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics before undertaking a PhD in Economics at La Trobe University. After stints at Aberdeen University and the University of Western Australia, he returned to the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics. In 2001 he moved to work with the Food and Agriculture Organisation in Rome and SJFI in Copenhagen before taking up a position at UNCTAD in Geneva as Senior Economics Affairs Officer for the Trade Negotiations and Commercial Diplomacy Branch. There he contributed to the development of agricultural trade modelling work (ATPSM) and economy wide general equilibrium modelling. He has since freelanced for UNCTAD, the ILO, World Bank, OECD and several Australian aid projects in Vietnam, Indonesia, Pakistan and Vanuatu. His most recent works include analysis of free trade agreements in East Africa, India, Uzbekistan, Angola and Cambodia. Other work includes the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

David is widely published in a series of refereed journals. He obtained a Bachelor in Economics from the University of Western Australia, a Masters of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of Reading, UK, and a PhD in Economics from La Trobe University, Australia. For the last five years, he has been a visiting fellow at the University of Western Australia.
