Africa AI Council Working Group on Governance & Ethics

We are delighted to share that Michael Mudd, our Senior Digital Trade Advisor, has been selected – on behalf of the Africa AI Council Secretariat – to join the Thematic Working Group on AI Governance and Ethics.

The Africa AI Council is an African-led, global collaborative platform that brings together leaders from the public and private sectors to develop bold, actionable recommendations for advancing AI across the continent.

Within this, the AI Governance and Ethics Working Group plays a critical role in shaping responsible AI policies, legal and regulatory frameworks, and ethical safeguards grounded in African values and priorities. Its work will help ensure that AI systems across the continent are trustworthy, inclusive, and accountable.
