The Project at A Glance
What We Found
Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) are key tools in a country’s transformation from an import-dependent economy to a diversified, export-driven one; they provide predictable government-to-government frameworks for sourcing inputs, improving market access, and attracting investment. In this context, International Economics is delivering high-level technical advisory support for FTA negotiations, including engagement in working groups and the preparation of analytical position papers that guide trade policy discussions.
Our Strategy and Impact
International Economics is responsible for designing and documenting a robust qualitative and quantitative methodology to assess the impact of FTAs on national strategies and economic objectives. The Team will prepare preliminary analytical reports for each prospective FTA and support negotiation teams and committees by conducting background studies, participating in meetings, and advising on communication and change-management approaches for affected sectors. Finally, International Economics will deliver comprehensive final reports for each negotiation partner, analysing trade structures, economic contributions, diversification opportunities, sectoral impacts, alignment with national strategies, and implications for investment, technology localisation, and innovation.
Our Core Solutions
The cross-cutting nature of trade is such that it requires a comprehensive, integrated, and inclusive framework. While well-designed trade policies are vital to delivering long-term benefits for economies, so is the need for effective implementation.
At International Economics, we support the public and private sectors in navigating the policy and negotiation landscape regarding international trade. This includes establishing robust monitoring and evaluation framework through sophisticated real-time dashboards and reporting systems to ensure the best outcomes. We provide advocacy services to empower delegations and negotiators to participate effectively in trade negotiations and deliberations and advocate for their countries’ interests and positions.
