Preparation of EPA Evaluative Reports – Ghana

The Project at A Glance

Monitoring of the EU-Ghana iEPA can promote a better understanding of current activities and can allow for an objective assessment of whether the Agreement has attained its targets. International Economics, is supporting the iEPA Secretariat to review the data gathered and produce the EPA evaluative Report.

What We Found

Following the initial work conducted by our Team for the Compete Ghana Programme in which a baseline report has been drafted highlighting the existing conditions affecting trade between the EU and Ghana prior to the implementation of the iEPA (i.e. prior to 2016), we are supporting the EPA Secretariat in reviewing the data gathered and produce the EPA Evaluative Report.

Our Strategy and Impact

The baseline data could enable Ghanaian and European policymakers to track the evolution and impacts of the iEPA. Our Team has reviewed and analysed the data collected from all relevant sources for all agreed indicators, assessed the quality of the gathered data and assisted the EPA Secretariat in the preparation of the first national evaluative report.

The project served to develop the capabilities of the EPA Secretariat in data collection and producing the monitoring reports so that it can effectively keep the different parties updated on the progress and impact of the iEPA.
